A Review- Markers for Early Prediction of Pre-eclampsia

Pre-eclampsia is a pregnancy-specific hypertensive disorder that may lead to serious maternal and foetal complications. It is a multisystem disease that is commonly, but not always, accompanied by proteinuria. Its cause(s) remain unknown, and delivery remains the only definitive treatment. Many studies have examined the etiopathogenesis and pathophysiological factors related to pre-eclampsia. Early prediction of pre-eclampsia would allow for timely initiation of preventive therapy. This study reviews the current research of the most important strategies for prediction of pre-eclampsia, including the Biochemical markers. This book shall help the policy makers to choose the best criteria of the mentioned domain, the best combinations, while formulating newer edition of testing standards in early prediction of pre-eclampsia.
