A review of the adverse event reporting system at a hospital in Oman
Details
It examines the views of nurses and doctors on the requirements of an incident reporting system. Understanding the views of health care workers is an essential prerequisite for the success of any program that will be implemented in a hospital. The findings of this work confirm the existing literature on the necessity of a confidential incident reporting system. Based on this work, incident reporting system in the hospital was re-structured and reporting has improved dramatically where doctors, who used to be reluctant, started to get involved not only in reporting but also on corrective action plans.
