A Review on improving the tribological properties by Using Grease Add

Additives and lubricant have interaction in tribology of surface to reduce friction and control wear, in reality impossible to avoid the friction and wear between two surfaces in contact and move adjacent to each other. Lubricants such as petroleum oil and synthetically oil used improve performance of mechanical system and protect the surface of elements by having influence on physical and chemical properties the moving components due to limitation and side effect of lubricant during application to reduce friction and control wear. The additives introduced to enhance the friction reduction and controlling wear as well as improve properties of lubricant and improve side effect such corrosion, oxidation, seizure and scoring. This paper presents historical development and role of additives used as lubricant to perform several activities, and discuss formation, mechanism and application of additives.
