A Sociolinguistic Study of Burushaski Speakers of Kashmir Valley

The Present study is intended to focus on some important questions related to sociolinguistic study of Burushaski speakers of Srinagar: 1. To evaluate the domains in which Burushaski language is used and the domains in which Kashmiri, Urdu, and English are used? 2. To determine the sociolinguistic contexts in which Burushaski, Balti, Kashmiri, Urdu and English are learned? 3. What are the attitudes of Burushaski speakers towards their language and culture? 4. What is the in-group community feeling of Burushaski speakers? 5. How far Burushos feel to maintain Burushaski as one of the languages in the context of their given linguistic inventories?
