A Sociological Study of Child Labor: Causes and Consequences

Child labor means the employment of children at a small age which harms and exploits them. It is a kind of labor in which children are harmed physically, mentally and morally when they are forced to work. Child labour is considered as a crime against the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. The labour puts hindrance in the way of the education and normal development of the children which can be harmful to their health and their morals. Material contained in this book can be helpful for researchers and policymakers for the formulation of policies for the eradication of child labor from Pakistani society.

Mr. Khizar Qamar completed has completed his M. Phil in Sociology from University of Sargodha and at present works as Deputy District Officer Tehsil Shakrgarh District Narowal Punjab Pakistan. He performed his research in the area of child labour and dedicated his efforts for the eradication of child labor from Pakistani society.
