A Strategy of Defence Mechanism Employed in Bapsi Sidhwa's Fiction

Literature is a perpetual written work, which expresses and communicates thoughts, feelings and attitudes towards life and the world. The novels 'The Pakistani Bride' and 'An American Brat' by Sidhwa demonstrate the psychological development, anxieties, anguish, fear, jealousy, bereavement, hostility and maturity level of her characters in the presence of these core issues of their lives.The research exposes that both Feroza and Ziatoon's defense mechanisms are connected for self-amendment. Ziatoon has faced many problems in life but she has never given up and carried on her journey against the society. Both of them give reasonable causes to ponder about as they face conflicts and frustration from the society.
