Electric Discharge Machining is one of the most popular machining process, where there is no limit for the research. EDM process is most widely used by many of the industries like mold-making tool and die industries, but is becoming a general method of making prototype and production parts, especially in the aerospace, auto-mobile and electronics industries in which production quantities are relatively low. It is also used for coinage die making, metal disintegration machining, etc. Many researchers have studied EDM in various aspects. The author attempted few among those. The study of Effect on Machining Characteristics of EDM using two materials i.e., High Speed Steel and Super Ni 690 along with various topics like Determination of MRR, TWR and SR at various levels of PC, Determination of Best Concentration of Powder to be mixed, Multi Objective Optimization through GRA, Multi Response Optimization of Titanium using Modified TOPSIS were discussed with the help of tables and graphs in detail. Results were given for topic at the end of the each chapter. This attempt may be useful for the aspirants to work in these areas.

Dr. BSV Ramarao is currently working as a professor and HoD at Pragati Engineering College (A). His Qualifications are PhD, M.E, MBA, BE and DME. He is having more than 18 years of teaching experience and taught more than twenty subjects to UG and PG students at Engineering Colleges. He is the member of few reputed professional bodies.
