A Thesis in Editing and Sound Design

The true challenge in working as a professional film editor and sound designer is in being able to lend ones skills to the variety of mediums involved and the many styles that exist within. In this greater idea, lies the struggle that Gabriel Lamb surpassed while in pursuit of his MFA in Motion Pictures and Television. Produced from nearly two years of work, this piece serves as the written portion of Lamb's thesis in Editing and Sound Design. It serves as insight into the process of production and post production for films, television, commercial pieces, and music videos. This book introduces Lamb and his reasons for approaching the endeavor. It continues to display his assessments for each of the eight film projects included, and his final thoughts on the completed project. This well prepared document gives excellent insight to the process of production and post production, while also capturing a personal touch suggesting his desires and larger vision as a filmmaker and artist.
