Flavonoid is a broad class of oxygen heterocycles which includes neoflavones, flavones, isoflavones. These structurally similar flavones are present in varieties of plant species and known to exhibit a broad range of biological activities. This book describes the synthesis of these flavones mainly via cross-coupling reactions using triarylbismuth as organometallic reagent. Apart from that, recent developments in the area of cross-coupling reactions have also been included in this book. Overall the present book will provide broad knowledge and idea about synthesis and biological importance of Flavonoids.
Autorentext
Dr. Abhijeet Kumar has received his B.Sc. (Hons.) and M.Sc. degrees in Chemistry from Banaras Hindu University.Later he completed his Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur in 2016. His research work was focused on development of cross-coupling methods for the synthesis of medicinally important oxygen and N-heterocycles.
