Acha (Digitaria Spp) Production and Utilization in Africa

The survey was conducted to assess the determinants of adoption of improved Acha production and processing technologies among rural farmers in Kogi State, Nigeria. The population of this study consisted of all the rural farmers in Kogi State. A purposive, stratified and simple random sampling techniques were adopted in obtaining 180 respondents for the study of which 160 were returned. Data were collected with structured questionnaire. Analytical methods used were frequency distribution, percentages, mean, spearman correlation coefficient, factor analysis and Kruskal Wallis test. It was concluded that, adoption and utilization of improved Acha production and processing technologies by farmers improved socio-economic status of the farmers.
