Achieving Sustainable Development

Why and how do businesses, governments, civil society organizations, and individuals BEHAVE today? Why and how do these BEHAVIORS need to change in order to produce a more sustainable future (and what does that sustainable future even look like?)? What MOTIVATIONS could generate the needed behaviors? And how could they be established? What would be necessary and sufficient CONDITIONS to change the motivational structures that underlie our existing system? These are all the questions that this book seeks to answer in a humble attempt to contribute to the expanding thinking around the achievement of "sustainable development".

Marine Gerard graduated from MIT Sloan's MSMS Program in June 2014 after completing a Masters in Management at HEC Paris and a Bachelor in Mathematics at McGill University. At MIT, her research focused on the design of policies for systemic change towards more sustainable and inclusive development, especially focusing on industrialized countries.
