Action Research for Quality English Language Teaching in Ethiopia

Action Research for Quality English Language Teaching is a pragmatically empowering stance for Ethiopian university teachers. Inasmuch as the English language is a medium of instruction at secondary and tertiary levels in Ethiopia, language teachers need to be responsive to their practices, in their practices and at their practices through action research. Implied within the stance is the professional dynamism and competitiveness characterized by interconnectedness, technology-dependent and decentralization with shared common sense of purpose demanding teachers to be life-long learners, critical and creative thinkers endowed with stamina to produce, preserve, disseminate, extend, and apply knowledge for betterment. Waiting an ideal time to do so, in such professional environment, is waiting forever, and yet, knowledge of epistemological, ontological, methodological, and quality implications of their practices is essential. He authored two books on action research and quality issues.
