Adding and subtracting in painting

"(...) my painting is linked to a process of adding translucent layers of colours, which largely accompanies a chromatic subtraction. Plane upon plane, the composition is formulated through countless ponderations and speculations, on the possible effects that a single colour can exert: both on forms and superimposed on other colours. The linear structure guides the chromatic construction, but does not define it. (...) Painting is reorganised through constant experimentation. (...) Each painting presents itself as a challenge which, although structured, is like Deleuze's white canvas: a space full of probabilities and hypotheses that go beyond personal imagination. Only the doing dictates the pictorial path."
