Details

Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) hold promise for applications in regenerative medicine due to their accessibility, expandability, and multipotentiality. Adipose tissue has been proven to serve as an abundant, accessible, and rich source of adult stem cells with multipotent properties. Hence, it is used for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine applications. This study was aimed at sheep, as sheep are an ideal model for bone tissue engineering and has been proposed as an animal model for a wide range of applications in biomedical research like prion diseases, respiratory diseases, neurological disorders, and cardiomyopathies. Characterization of Ovine adipose tissue-derived mesenchymal stem cells (ADMSCs) was critical before using the cells for therapy.
