Adjustment and Ageing: A Psychological Study of Elderly Care

Study of the Old Age is an important issue today in modern times. Every person attends old age at certain point of time of his life. Political, Economic and Social trends of the world affect the human life. A man has to make adjustments with these trends. Culture, economic and social changes, changing family pattern, confrontation between the young and old generation and physical health play a crucial role in the adjustment of the old people. Ageing means increase in age. With the passage of time and with increase in the age of a person, various types of changes are observed. These changes occur in a phase manner and they have their importance with reference to the age of a person having their impact upon the life of a person. Dr. Pankaj J. Thakar (M.A., M.Phil., Ph.D.) has completed his M.A. in 'Clinical Psychology' from 'School of Psychology' of Gujarat University. He has been awarded Ph.D. Degree in 2013 under the guidance of Dr. Kamayani Mathur. Now, he is working with Gujarat Cancer Medical College & Hospital as a counsellor.
