ADOLESCENT PREGNANT WOMEN AND THEIR KNOWLEDGE ABOUT IT

Descriptive research in Cebadas, Ecuador, on the knowledge of pregnant adolescents on the subject and other variables of interest. It was found that most of them do not know about the extension of adolescence, but they do know the age of general development of the person, the optimal age for the beginning of sexual relations and the ideal age range for pregnancy, childbirth and child rearing. Most of them know about family planning and contraceptive methods, but only a few use them, they value teenage pregnancy negatively, but they do not know its consequences and some see it as something normal. Little information on these topics is received through official channels; most receive it through informal channels. Rural area and married marital status as determinants of teenage pregnancy.
