Adolescent Residential Treatment Program Curriculum: Critical Elements

The focus of this book is to identify the critical elements when developing a curriculum for utilizing equines in mental health services with adolescents. It identifies how specific focus areas impact the elements in a curriculum. Focus areas it touches on includes adolescent development, trauma, and the therapeutic process. Once it is understood how these focus areas impact each element in a curriculum it identifies the key elements to focus on when building a curriculum.

I completed by bachelor of arts degree in Therapeutic Recreation in 2002. I then spent 5 years of working with children and adolescents before completing my masters degree. I received my Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Equine Assisted Mental Health and Marriage and Family Studies in 2009.
