Adoption of Biosecurity Measures & Profitability of Poultry Production

This book examined the effect of adopting biosecurity measures on poultry farming in Ondo State, Nigeria. Ninety respondents were selected using a multistage sampling procedure and a structured questionnaire. Descriptive statistics and a binary logistic regression model were employed to analyze the collected data. The findings revealed a higher representation of males than females in the poultry farming industry. The study further showed that a large percentage of respondents adopted biosecurity measures, indicating a high level of awareness and implementation. Moreover, the study found that age, years of experience, and poultry size had significant effects on the adoption of biosecurity measures. Overall, the adoption of biosecurity practices had a positive effect on the profitability of poultry farmers.
