Adoption of lean manufacturing in Indian process industry

Lean implementation is recognised as a topic of growing importance in developing countries, especially India. However, there remains a lack of research concerning lean implementation in process industry. This book fills this void in knowledge and contributes in developing the understanding of lean concepts. It helps to break the chaos about lean implementation in process sector. This book assists the managers and practitioners to explore different prominent issues which are to be taken care of while implementing lean in process industries. It presents a categorisation of lean practices according to their applicability in process industries. Simultaneously, a lean implementation framework for process industries is also proposed in this book. This naval framework will possibly be useful for the managers to emanate lean manufacturing in their organisation. Although the focus of the research study discussed in the book was Indian process industries, however, with the help of this book process industries in the other parts of globe too can focus on ameliorating their operational strategies through successful implementation of 'lean'.
