Advanced in Marine Robotics

Marine environment, the only one that offers and holds endless potential for taking the most advantages given by using of unmanned systems, underwater and surface with wide range of possibilities. There are no doubts that in the future unmanned systems will fulfil numerous tasks in the military and Oceanographic field. Since Thousands of years ago, there are evidences of usage of boats (primitive or very simple ones) already by the prehistoric men. From then on, boats and ships were utilized for different needs, fishing, trading, and wars and to discover the new world. This book gathers surface and underwater leading research for the scientific community. The book consists of Israel academy institutions, International Universities and marine robotics industries. Is seems obvious that in the near future marine robotics will be a major player in civil and military applications, and of course ocean research and decision making capabilities.

Oren Gal received his B.Sc. in Aerospace Engineering, Technion, Israel in 2004, graduated M.Sc at 2009 and currently graduating his PhD. His research interest focus on marine robotics. Oren involves with the Marine Robotics Center at the Technion,Lab of Autonomous Robotics at BGU and starting joint research with MIT Marine Robotics labs.
