ADVANCES IN IMPLANT SURGICAL PROCEDURES

Dental Implant is a device specially designed to be placed surgically within or on the mandibular or maxillary bone as a means of providing dental replacement prosthesis. Development of the concept of osseointegration revolutionized the field of implant dentistry and today implant placement is a viable option in the treatment of partial and full edentulism and has become an integral facet of periodontal therapy. With technological advancement, dental implants have gained increased acceptance by patients. Improved reliability of implant along with greater acceptance of minimal invasive restorative treatment, have made dental implant the first choice of treatment offered to patients.
