Africa is the Cradle of Christian Religion

Scholars unanimously agree that Africa is the birth place of Christian religious life.The legendary Anthony who is believed to be the first Christian anchorite,embraced heremitical life in Egypt. Anthony,we are told,was the only son of his parents.After the premature death of his parents he was left with the responsibility of taking care of the family and bringing up his younger sister;a situation which temporarily paralyzed his spiritual aspiration.All along he had desired to lead a life of radical following of Christ.For this he longed to be freed from any attachment so that he could concentrate on his interior life.Having arranged for the future of his sister,he disposed off all his possessions and embraced solitary life.His entry into the desert marked the birth of monastic life in Egypt.Christian monasticism was born in Egypt and defused to other places.The continent of Africa was the cradle of human life. Each stage in the development of humankind can be traced in the African record.The ancient civilization of Egypt flourished there.In the classical world of Greece and Rome,Africa was regarded as a source of wisdom.This book is good to all Christians.
