African Traditional Religion, The Misunderstood Faith

African Traditional Religion has a very deep philosophy and cannot be easily understood.As a result it has been misunderstood by Africans and non Africans alike. This book has attempted to clarify the misconceptions and prejudices against African Traditional Religion, using the earliest rites of passage an African undergoes, taking rituals and taboos as case studies. It is hoped that this book will go a long way in educating Africans and non Africans about African Traditional Religion.

Dr Tugume Lubowa Hassan holds a PhD and an MA from Makerere University. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from the same University. He also holds a Diploma in Education from Kyambogo University. He is a distinguished teacher, who has taught students in Uganda at almost all levels of education. He is currently a lecturer at Makerere University.
