Agronomic principles: basis for agronomic theory

The main objective of this work is to integrate the advances obtained in the field of agronomy, oriented more towards an understanding of the core processes than towards detailed knowledge, which is left to the specialist in one of the agronomic sciences. The aim is to form the basis of an agronomic theory. Obviously this is an initial step or a starting point which will undoubtedly be refined in the future.The plan to follow is as follows: describe the basic principles and their laws, give examples of practical uses of these, discuss some advances in quantifying the impact of these principles on production, review the significance of the use of simulation models. The term agronomy (derived from the combination of the Latin ager, field and the Greek, nomos, law) will be used in its broadest sense which includes not only the cultivation of land to produce plant-derived goods but also to produce animal-derived products; however, the examples I will cite will all be from the plant area but this does not mean that these principles are not valid in the area of animal production.
