Albert Le Grand est un hagiographe breton, frère dominicain né à Morlaix en 1599 et décédé en 1641 à Rennes. Il fait profession au couvent de Rennes, avant de se voir assigné à celui de sa ville natale en 1622 ou 1623. Né Jean Le Grand, il choisit lorsqu'il entre dans les ordres de se placer sous le patronage d'Albert le Grand, béatifié précisément en 1622. Ses écrits, consacrés à la matière hagiographique et historique bretonne, souvent jugés trop légendaires, connaissent un grand succès. Il est surtout connu pour sa Vie des saincts de la Bretaigne armorique, publiée en 1637 à Nantes chez Pierre Doriou, et pour laquelle il utilise notamment des manuscrits anciens disparus par la suite.
