Alcoholic Myocardiopathy

Since the introduction of the term "alcoholic cardiomyopathy" in the year 1902, the diagnosis is mainly based on a history of long-term excessive alcohol consumption without abnormal loading conditions, coronary artery disease, drugs, or other specific disease. This book has the idea of showing the risks that alcohol causes to the heart, its changes and the final outcome. This so serious and silent pathology affects young patients, to the point of leaving them debilitated to the point of needing heart transplantation in a short period of time after the disease is already established.This is a book and a warning to the whole society.

Diego Marques é biomédico perfusionista, trabalha há 13 anos na equipe de cirurgia cardíaca do Instituto do Coração-SP. É Mestre em Ciências pela Escola Paulista de Medicina (UNIFESP), escritor, professor em disciplinas de residência e especialização (USP) e professor de cardiologia (UNAERP).
