El Dr. Mohd Hasmadi Ismail es profesor titular de explotación forestal y topografía en la Facultad de Silvicultura de la Universidad Putra de Malasia (UPM). Se licenció con honores en silvicultura (1998) y obtuvo un máster en teledetección aplicada en la UPM (2000). En 2005 obtuvo su doctorado en Tecnología Geoinformática por la Universidad de Cranfield, en el Reino Unido.
