Alternaria leaf spot and its management

Alternaria leaf spot is a seed borne disease which is usually occurs in cole crops. This disease is seed borne as its conidia are present in the seeds which gets active along with the germination of seeds. This disease has severe effect on the production on leafy vegetable as well as it has severe loss in seed production of broccoli. Although chemical methods is effective for its management but due to its residual activity it harms on health of consumer so the botanical extract Acorus calamus and garlic has been effective for the control of this. So local product and plant extract can be benificial for the control of alternaria leaf spot.

The author was born on 23rd February 1991 in Chitwan Nepal. He had completed B.Sc.Ag in 2015 from IAAS, Rampur Campus, TU. He had recently started his Msc.
