A Derridian deconstructionist view of three of Gabriel García Márquez's masterpieces: The Incredible and Sad Tale of Innocent Erendira and Her Heartless Grandmother, Chronicle of a Death Foretold, and Love in the Time of Cholera. This postmodern application discusses an elimination of logocentric ("meaning" located easily within the text) reading, and suggests alternative ways of finding meaning in traditional genres.

Julie McDiarmid is an English Instructor at Southwestern Michigan College as well as a working author. She lives in Southwest Michigan with her husband and two dogs. This book was originally written in fulfillment of her Master's Degree in English Language and Literature at Central Michigan University.
