American Presidents: Opportunities and Pressures

Today, the conflict between universalism based on religious and moral principles as well as those of enlightenment messianism, and particularism based on related interests, industries, investor groups and capital, a source of great dangers for the democratic system, is no longer so much between North and South, East and West of the United States, but within the White House itself. We are sure that the Americans are truly aware of the beneficial direction that their country has given to the history of the world in the last century, and that they are ready to enrich and develop it, despite all the efforts of the champions of particularism to drag them down, out of anachronism and for a few interests here and there.
