An Analysis Of The Determinants Of Female Participation In Paid Jobs
Details
Female labor force participation impacts various aspects of socio-economic well being of households in Malakand Division. Female participation in paid jobs not only enhances households standard of living but empowers them as well. The present study adopts a two pronged approach; first to fill the gaps of the previous studies and consider more socio-cultural, demographic and ethnic variables for the analysis and secondly, to assess the impact of female participation in paid employment on their socio-economic empowerment in the study area where cultural and religious norms are deeply rooted. The study contributes to the existing literature by developing Social and Economic Empowerment Indices to analyze the impact of female participation in paid employment on their social and economic empowerment. Binary Logistic Regression technique was used to estimate the determinants of female participation in paid jobs in the study area.
