An Evaluation of the Working of Self Help Groups under SGSY

This book examines the "An Evaluation of the Working of Self-Help Groups under Swarnjayanti Gram Swarozgar Yojana in Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh" As the scheme had been launched fifteen years ago, and there is dearth of evaluation studies available and it is fact by the researcher to undertake a study of this type. The focuses on critical issues such as the awareness of the beneficiaries, to analyze on self-help groups and need to undertake different activities and their impact on the sample beneficiaries. The primary data i.e. opinion of the beneficiaries was collected by employing a schedule for the beneficiaries. An attempt was made in this study to draw conclusion from the analysis by which both primary and secondary data which will help the District Rural Development Authority officers and beneficiaries in improving the working of SHGs and policy measures to be taken by the bankers and Government officials in future.

Dr. Vishnu Vadde acquired his PhD at the Acharya Nagarjuna University and is now working as Post Doctoral Fellow at Dept of Commerce & Business Administration, Acharya Nagarjuna University. His research interests span across self help groups, entrepreneurship development.
