An Evaluative Study of Information Services in Agriculture University Libraries of Uttar Pradesh

Agriculture Institute libraries play an important role in providing the right information at the right time to the agricultural, scientific, and technological development of a nation. Libraries are social institutions which serve the needs of their community of users. The evaluation of the library is based on how well it serves user needs. Progress in science and technology means the libraries must provide a variety of information services to users. To achieve this, it is necessary to have a continuous feedback from users, therefore requests for further information on library and information services are asked from the end user. Agricultural University Library and information Centers should come forward with sincere efforts to provide remote access through internet, providing electronic contents to the end-users digital reference and information services. Library and information science professionals may select 1 or more web-based reference services according to the nature and need of their users and either use those services on behalf of the users or let the users use on their own. The Agricultural University libraries play vital role in bridging the digital divide among the user.
