An Investigation into TQM Drivers/Enablers using Structural Modeling
Details
This book describes a research project is an investigation into the totality, and hierarchical nature of Total Quality Management (TQM), where TQM is defined as a set of management principles that create an effective umbrella covering all management activities and practices. This contributes to the much-sought understanding and guidelines for management needed to tackle the array of elements of known management models, directives, fads and initiatives. Overall, the TQM model described has some unique features. These include the empirically validated measure and ranking of each element to provide clear guidance for the potential impact on the organisation. Further, the power and dependency rankings of the model can be translated to apply to elements of other management models, for example, to categories of the ABEF. The development of the TQM model is a significant step forward in providing a fresh approach, as well as a clearer understanding and guidance, for future research into the application of quality management models appropriate into the 21st century.
