An IoT-Driven Approach to Plant Monitoring Systems

This book presents the development and implementation of a Smart Plant Monitoring System using IoT (Internet of Things) technologies to enhance plant care and management. The system integrates key sensors-such as soil moisture, temperature, and motion detectors-into a central platform using the NodeMCU ESP8266 microcontroller. This setup allows real-time monitoring and control of plant health conditions, ensuring that plants receive optimal care, even for those with limited gardening experience. The collected data is stored and visualized through the ThingSpeak cloud platform, enabling remote access and analysis. The book covers the practical aspects of designing the system, from software simulation using Tinkercad to hardware deployment with Arduino IDE. Additionally, it discusses the scalability of the system for small-scale gardens and the challenges of sensor accuracy and connectivity issues.
