An overview of green building rating systems

The aim of a green building design is to minimize the need for non-renewable resources and maximize the utilization efficiency of these resources. Also, it serves the purpose of maximising the use, recycling and utilization of renewable resources. A green building rating system is required to evaluate the environmental performance of a building throughout its life cycle. It contains a set of criteria including various parameters related to the design, construction and operation of a green building.
