An overview of the Literature on Lean Production

A large number of firms of different nature in different countries over the world are practicing lean philosophy in order to improve performance and remain competitive. These days organizations use it as strategic competitive tool. Several studies have been conducted on lean practice across various industries.. Organizations of both developed and developing countries have been enjoying lot of benefits and improvements although many problems have also been encountered. The main objective of this research is to overview the existing literature to see the practices of lean philosophy in different parts of the globe. An extensive desk research has been conducted to gain a detail insight.
