Maintaining quality of signal transmission is a major challenge with the increasing speed of data transmission in Nano-scale VLSI technology. The decreasing voltage margins at the same time, makes it even stringent to maintain Power Integrity (PI) and Signal Integrity (SI) in high speed systems. Jitter is an important phenomenon of signal integrity. This Book contains fundamentals of signal integrity, jitter definition and their classification, summary of previous research work on jitter, a detailed explanation and implementation of different types of jitter estimation techniques using MATLAB. The strength and limitations of tail-fit, improved tail fit, and spectrum approach for jitter segregation are discussed. Further, mathematical models of different jitter sources are implemented. At the end, a new technique for ISI estimation from total jitter using clock pattern is introduced. Authors: Vijender K. Vijender Kumar Sharma is currently a Research Associate at IIIT, Delhi in collaboration with STMicroelectronics, India. He received his Master of Technology (VLSI & Embedded System) from IIIT, Delhi in 2014 and Bachelor of Technology (ECE) from RTU, Kota in 2011. His areas of interest are jitter, signal integrity and High Speed Serial Links.
