Analysis of Media Coverage of the Green House Project
Details
People have a choice on how and where they want to live out the remaining years of their lives. Happiness and quality of life should not be a question; it should be a requirement for long-term care facilities to provide. This thesis presents the media coverage of the Green House Project which is a fairly new concept that radically redesigns the nursing home experience. Green Houses are small self- sufficient homes built to offer elders the opportunity to live out their remaining years in a place that they feel comfortable calling home as opposed to an industrialized facility that feels like a hospital. This concept is just beginning to grow and will only become more popular to the masses as it continues to receive more media coverage.
Autorentext
I wrote this thesis to graduate with honors in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of Iowa. I chose the Green House Project for my thesis because, even though it is such a simple concept, it really makes a world of a difference to people preparing for their later years in life and where they want to spend them.
