ANALYSIS OF THE EFFICACY OF SULPHIDE SCAVENGERS IN DRILLING FLUIDS

This state-of-the-art work reviews the sulphide scavenging technology and discusses the laboratory evaluation to field application of two scavengers in water-base drilling fluids. Parameters that affect the reliability of these materials for removing sulphides and that of corrosion control effects on the drill pipes are emphasized. Practical problems of scavengers use, such as effects on mud performance, how to add the scavenger to mud, and the health, safety and environmental (HSE) aspects of the scavengers are considered to improve or accelerate the implementation of environmental strategies. This book has been written to assist both the novice and the experienced technical professional in drilling fluid technology. Emphasis is placed on developing the fundamental concepts and tools of the subject and on discussing basic applications.
