Analytical solutions for elastic plates containing cracks

The assessment of the theoretical strength of cracked bodies is basically a problem of the Mathematical theory of fracture. This book aims to present simple,elegant & closed form solutions for both isotropic and orthotropic elastic plates containing cracks,based on the special mathematical technique and linear elastic fracture mechanics principles. Effective solutions for fracture parameters are presented.

Lalitha Chattopadhyay is a Scientist at CSIR-National Aerospace Laboratories, India. Over two decades,she is researching extensively in the areas of Fracture Mechanics,Composites, & Interface fracture of Composites. Previously she worked in high temperature creep life prediction at CSIR-NML. She holds Ph.D. in Mathematics from IIT Bombay, India.
