Analyzing Community Participation in Local Government Funded Projects

This book titled "Analyzing Community participation in Local Government Funded Projects" discusses the reasons why project designers and implementers ought to actively involve community members in the planning and implementation of development projects at local and national levels. Community participation empowers local members to take collective actions in coming up with appropriate, relevant and sustainable interventions that are aimed at transforming their own communities. Although the community based approach does not come without challenges, the approach is now increasingly becoming a conventional approach to improving and realizing sustainable Livelihoods. The approach is now well known for promoting downward accountability as well as for promoting effective delivery of services.

Kiggundu Joseph ist Doktorand im Fachbereich Entwicklung an der Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University. Er hat einen Master-Abschluss in Entwicklungsstudien von der Uganda Matry's University Kampala, einen Master-Abschluss in Leadership and Human Relations von der Makerere University und einen Bachelor-Abschluss in Entwicklungsstudien von der Makerere University.
