Anatomy of developing buffalo liver

Liver is one of the vital organs actively involved in various metabolic functions of the body such as metabolism of amino acids, proteins, lipids and carbohydrates. It is also involved in other functions such as detoxification of various metabolic waste and drugs. Hemopoiesis is one of the major functions of the prenatal liver it also shows some phagocytic activity especially the phagocytosis of the abnormal and impaired hemoblastic cells with the help of the kupffer cells.
