Wenn er einmal länger als für ein paar Monate am gleichen Ort ausharrt, dann in Washington, D.C., wo seine Familie lebt. Er schreibt regelmäßig für National Geographic Traveler und Wired, seine Reisegeschichten erscheinen zudem in Outside, National Geographic Adventure und Men's Journal.
