Anti-friction Bearings and Lubricants Under Electric Current
Details
This book basically covers analysis of anti-friction bearings and lubricants under electric current in 9 Chapters including that of threshold voltage phenomenon, start/stop characteristics, electrical parameters of bearings, capacitive effects, deterioration of lubricants, and bearing failure under shaft voltages. Theoretical procedure to establish, capacitance, resistance, capacitive reactance, impedance, pitch of corrugations, and charge accumulation on surfaces of bearings is given that originates the new methodology for the diagnosis of bearings. Also, the decrease in life span of bearings, lubricant resistivity, recovery/recouping of resistivity under the influence of different levels of voltages has been established. The dynamic coefficients of anti-friction bearings have been determined using an electrical analogy approach beside determination of minimum cycles before craters and corrugations are formed on the active surface of bearings.
