Antidiabetic Potential of Symplocos Racemosa Roxb. Bark

Prevention of diabetes and its complications is not only a major challenge for the future, but essential if health for all is to be an attainable target. WHO study groups emphasize strongly in this regard the optimal, rational uses of traditional and natural indigenous medicines. Symplocos racemosa Roxb. bark is used in Ayurvedic poly-herbal preparations, to treat hyperglycemia in diabetes. Still no scientific and systematic study has been carried out to evaluate antidiabetic activity of the Symplocos racemosa Roxb. bark alone. This book emphasizes on anti-hyperglycemic and anti-hyperlipidemic potential of Symplocos racemosa Roxb. bark.
