Antioxidant Potential of Mimusops elengi

Pakistan has a strong tradition of herbal remedies and like most developing countries, its rural population still depends mainly on the indigenous system of medicine for their health related matters. Medicinal plants are a valuable source of new herbal drugs. During the last few decades, there has been increasing interest in the study of medicinal plants and their traditional use in different parts of the world. Despite the availability of different approaches for the discovery of therapeutical natural products still remain as one of the best reservoir of new structural types.

Muhammad Asam Raza was awarded PhD degree in "CHEMISTRY" (Natural Products) in 2011 under the supervision of Dr.Durre Shahwar from GC University Lahore (Pakistan).He has screened 200 plant extracts in search of natural antioxidants and enzyme inhibitors.He has published more than 35 research articles in well reputed journals with high impact factor
