Apaharan is a 2005 Hindi film released on the 2 December 2005 and is directed by Prakash Jha and stars Ajay Devgan and Nana Patekar in the main roles. It is the story of a complex relationship and clashing ideologies between a father and son set in the backdrop of the kidnapping industry in the eastern state of Bihar, India. Ajay Shashtri (Ajay Devgan) is an unemployed, honest graduate who dreams of joining the police force. His father, Prof. Raghuvansh Shastri (Mohan Aghashe) is a highly- principled and moralistic man .
