The German Linguistic Studies Series is a comprehensive and outstanding forum in its field. It has borne the name of its subject in its title since the foundation of the series in the eighth decade of the last century.
The series is comprehensive in the broad spectrum of topics covered (language levels, varieties, communication forms, epochs) in the range of research perspectives (theoretical and empirical studies, fundamental research and applications, interdisciplinarity with psychology, the social sciences etc.) and methodologies (the sole criterion is quality), in the rhythm of research (trends are perceived and also set, achievements are secured) and in the forms of presentation (monographs, textbooks, collected volumes, dictionaries).

Begriffe Besetzen<. Als empirische Basis der Untersuchung fungieren politische Reden von Lenin, Trockij, Karl Liebknecht und Rosa Luxemburg. Das Kernst|ck der Arbeit besteht in der Analyse der Begriffe und Schlagwvrter der extremen Linken in ihrer semantischen Entwicklung und strategischen Verformung. Anhand von Schlagwvrtern wie z.B. 'Demokratie', 'Sozialismus', 'Terror' oder 'Bewusstsein' werden diese Prozesse deutlich gemacht. Dabei werden die historischen Bez|ge zu den Grundelementen der sozialistisch-kommunistischen Ideologie im 19. Jahrhundert hergestellt und zentrale Traditionslinien herausgearbeitet. Wichtig sind dabei sowohl die Ablvsung des christlichen Paradigmas durch den szientistischen Diskurs als auch die sozialdarwinistischen Implikationen der Ideologie der extremen Linken. An den zahlreichen Beispielen des empirischen Teils wird sichtbar gemacht, wie diese Traditionslinien fortgesetzt und in die Argumentationsstrdnge der Redner im Kontext des Ersten Weltkriegs eingebunden werden.
