Application of DFE and DFMA for enabling sustainable development

This book provides a new insights for the young practicing design engineers to develop the sustainable product at the early design stage. Moreover, the integration of DFE and DFMA leads to varied benefits ranging from improvement in product design and development, reduction of cost and product development time, generation of robust products, minimizing the environmental impact, etc. The integration of DFE and DFMA provides greater potential for advanced manufacturing practices because redesign of product to suit manufacturability and further design studies tries to minimize environmental impact, product development time and cost.The methodology proposed in this book will be useful for designers, manufacturers, practicing engineers and environmental engineers in the design and development of sustainable products at the conceptual design stage towards the attainment of business benefits such as reduced cost and time which in turn to improve the profitability and providing the resources for future generations.

Suresh have completed Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering in the area of Sustainable Product Development at Anna University,Chennai,India and I have completed M.E in Manufacturing Engineering at AU,Trichy and I have completed B.E in Mechanical Engineering at BDU,Trichy. My research interest includes DFMA, DFE and product development.
